IRC channel appears to be non-existant (or just for the public).
I recommend irc.enterthegame.net (or something like it) rather than Quakenet.

While I'm at it, I'd recommend a move of this thread to the General rather than OT section.

There is no official IRC channel yet. I'll talk to ronan about setting one up and/or setting up our own ircd.

Personally I don't like ETG, qNet is fine but it doesn't have nick registration. Only account registration :/

*bump*
I rather like this idea, I would definitely like to see this implemented.

You have to excuse me for reviving such a old thread but i wonder if you have created a channel on irc for this mod?

I know of a server that would probably let us use channels and stuff...

Yeah. I'm going to ask them, if that's okay with you guys. :P

ADDED:[20:58:17] <Colin> hehehe I understand that. it's no problem if you were to register a channel and then made it secret and password-protected

If you guys still want an irc channel, the server is "irc.chatcircuit.com"

And unless you want me to make the channel and aop people, I'll let the admins take care of it.

mIRC has a habit of crashing my computer, but I can see this becoming an outlet for newbies and un-registered users alike... I'll try to fix mIRC some time this week...

How about a teamspeak server? They can be throw up fairly easily and quickly if there is not one already in use.

I'd suggest gamesurge.net. It's a major gaming IRC community, huge in fact. It's easy and free to register a channel with them.

Please, get this game an IRC channel, I'll idle it and it'll get the word out to a lot of people.

This is just a temporary channel, we're registering one now.

If we can get 8 people in irc.quakenet.org in #1944 for 24 hours.
We can consider this channel as ours!!!

So please hurry and idle at our channel.
Thank you.

I know a mod, BF1918 which has its own (German) community group called Inside1918.
Which hosts 2 Teamspeak servers, One for the dev team and one for the public community.
They also host two gameservers, also one for the dev team (internal b?ta's) and one for the public community.

And they are always filled, and they really are a help for both the moddevelopers as for the gamers.
