help my sound! eeek!!

im using a better pc till mine gets upgraded. its got a built in sound but it sounds ..... crap. really echo's on games, eeeekk help. can sombody tell me a sound program i can download that takes the place of this crap sound orrrrrr what do i need to turn down?(everything is on full):

Volume control? Wave? SW Synth? CD Player? Line in? Microphone?

Well, uhm maybe it is a driver issue, you could try to update the soundcard drivers. Thats my best guess atm.

heh... just save up for a good soundcard. They're a bit pricey, but still worth it.
