I'm looking for some decent WWII soldier image references for 3d modeling. Preferably a front and side view (moderately to scale). Does anyone know of any good sites for this? I've checked all my usual blueprint/reference sights but have found none. I'm looking for something along the lines of an American Paratrooper or Ranger and possibly some Russian soldiers. Actually any WWII soldier image references would be great because I can't find any. :)

Thanks they have some good pics of the uniforms and gear.
All I need now is something like a concept drawing for use as an image plane in Max. A dead on proportionate front view and side view type of thing... sadly I can't find this anywhere.:(

Unfortunately they didn't need to do working drawings of soldiers
Your best luck would be to go down to a reenactment place and just try to get someone to do side + front pictures.
Or, you could just try to find a proportionate-picture thing (pic. where all the proportions of the human body are correct), use that as a base, then model on the clothes, etc.

Yeah I know none of the WWII websites/reeactment places have drawings like that. Maybe a concept artist or something for a WWII mod has some. I will look around for that.

Wasn't there a thread with pics of uniforms? I think it was a compition back in like Sept? That reminds me of my favorite history thread, band of brothers the real deal on uniforms. Sani and some other guy went on a flaming war on each other (I loved it). Did they save that thread? I would love to read it again. I have a bunch of photo's of my grandfather's division.

Black and white but still great pictures.
