James Doohan, people know him as "Scotty" on the Original series of Star Trek dies at the age of 85, and had been battling Alzheimer's disease and, most recently, pneumonia.

Per Doohan's request, said longtime agent Steve Stevens Sr., the sci-fi star will be cremated and his ashes launched into space by the same Houston-based aerospace company that shot the remains of Gene Roddenberry into orbit following the Star Trek creator's 1991 death. Stevens said he didn't know precisely when Doohan's outer space memorial would occur. "As soon as the next flight goes up," he said.

Born March 3, 1920, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Doohan came about Scotty's fire and doggedness the old-fashioned way: The battlefield. Fighting with the Royal Canadian Artillery during World War II, the future Starfleet officer landed on the beaches of Normandy, France, as part of the U.S.-led D-Day invasion. He lost a finger; the Allies won the war.

Enterprise was better then TNG, and The Original owned them all.

It was ahead of it's time. :D

The new Enterprise? My God that was terrable! The only thing it had going for it was the time travel, but the Zindy thing just went on too damn long. And then it never really ended and didn't explane a ton of the main things (like the time traveler and alternate univers). Voyager had Seven of Nine, and, ummmmm, we'll Seven of Nine was about all it had going for it. That and the borg. The original was alright, it did have the most jews of all the Star Treks  . Deep Space 9 was defiantly the worst of them all.

Deep Throat 9 sucked, 7 of 9 didn't, well maybe in her private time.

It was hard for them to write for the show after the 3rd season because they thought they were canceled, then we pushed for season 4 and got it, now Manny had to go back and redo some changes, and the 4th season became the best Star Trek season I ever seen, there was still room for the Movies there making, I had the privilege to talk with Manny on several occasions, he was the writer for the show.
