The fabled stalker eh.

I do feel they have not just missed the boat but also forgot their passports and luggage and the resultant delay has meant they have totally missed the holiday they had planned.

But better late than never eh :)

Err, if you had actually read the articles you'd know that it'll come out Q1 '07 ;)

I have, but if you visited the stalker forums, a dev slipped out that they would really like to realese Q4, and that they set Q1 07 so there was no way they could be late again. Then again he may have been teasing, or maybe it wasn't really a dev. But hey a man can drea,

i saw that. this is the first real update in like two frikin years. i've been following this game since day one (which if your a hardcore fan means 2001, not 2003!). i only wish i could believe that release date. my thoughts on the screens though. i'm glad to see they've updated the engine with hdr and new models and such. while the original x-ray engine looked great back in 2004, it isn't quite up to standards now. the update x-ray engine looks a whole lot better, espically in lighting. the only thing i really didn't like was the new look of the guy shown in the screen above. looks to futuristic to me. the only thing i really liked about stalker was even though the game was set in the future, it looked very traditional and old.

just hope that release day is correct, or this could be the next team fortress 2.

i think that screen shot looks sick, good graphics.... i'll have to read up on the game.

I thought back then the only thing avaible known was a x-ray engine techdemo with some robot like thingies? :confused:



Anyways, Good to see that its still alive, i had given up on this already :D

Aye, the PC Gamer Article on em was good.


Basically they've remade vast swathes of the game, as they weren't fun.

I know that the game had been announced in 2001. At that stage I believe they had a very early version of the X-Ray engine and the game design was totally different. It was a robot type guy running arround with a minigun blowing up weird guys. that may have just been the tech demo and not acutal game design though
