Sequel to a popular WW2 RTS called Soldiers: Heroes of World War 2.

They are getting close to release date and just released a demo.

Company of Heroes actually looks good. And the RTS that came before it was playable, not some gimmick(Soldiers was Commandos with physics)

Soldiers is a fantastic game. It is much more enjoyable to blow up crap and shoot in direct control. Im definately getting this "sequel".

Finally a demo! I thought they had given up on this or something :p
Loved the 1st one, hope they have fixed some little things from showw2 in FOW . Downloading now, Thanks for the reminder!

I finished playing through it last night. It is really excellent.

The controls are hard to get used at first (especially without a tutorial) but once you've got it down it's a lot of fun to play. It's realistic, for the most part, and immersive.

There is also a feature called "Demo" where you can watch the scenario in 'movie style' (Without Playing). I found it cool.

I'll most defintely be getting this game!

It was ok, lagged whenever I took over control of a player. Mildly fun but thats all.

more of the same as heroes, which isnt a bad thing because i love blowing up buildings to create quick cover :D

I was looking forward to this demo because there are probly five or more games that I am currently very interested in. This actually was not one of them, but I really hoped that this would be a good game. I was mostly excited about this because its the first demo thats come out for any of the games I've wanted. This game is really bad. Good graphics, but bad gameplay. I sure hope this isn't a start into the rest being bad. But I know for sure that 1944 is going to be good, so thats at least one out of the many.

Faces of War to Soldiers seems to me like ArmA to OFP - Exactly the same, but I'm going to get it anyway :D

I thought Soldiers was a really good game and the demo isn't that bad. The graphics have been improved quite a lot, my only problem was that I didn't particularly like the mission. I might get it, I'm not sure.

No idea, but I can run it fine with a 3200+ 1GB Radeon x800XL on high settings.

I heard somewhere that you have to install the latest version of directX to overcome that, but I can't guarantee that will make the demo run.

Yes, installing the latest version of DirectX will solve the problem. I have that error and after I DL the it latest version of DirectX it run with no prob.

In fact, if you google "d3dx9_27," you can download it from a website and zip it to your Win/system 32 folder, and it works fine.

The whole squad leader system is aggravtaing as hell! Whenever I click 'Dismiss squad,' it works, but as soon as I click a character, HE BECOMES SQUAD LEADER AGAIN! I just want to order units around individually, hassle free, and I should be able to...
