Well I liked it... By good do you mean if it's historically accurate?

Well yeah it is pretty realistic I guess and the death scenes arent too bad in comparison to battle of the bulge *laughs* I really enjoyed it and would recommend it.

It's a good film for it's time and better than most with a smorgasbord of famous actors.
Another film I would recommend on the battle is Theirs is the Glory (1945) which was made a year after the actual events with the participation of many of the battle's veterans. It also features many German vehicles that you don't see in later films.

An excellent film which is fairly decent in the realism department. With a great cast including Michael Caine, Sean Connery, Gene Hackman and Anthony Hopkins. One of my favourite war films :).
Sure there are a few dodgy bits as Enigma has mentioned, but this film really puts across the scope of Market Garden - in a time when computer editing was practically non existant in the film industry.

It's quite a classic in terms of WWII films, and widely accepted as a good movie. I haven't actually seen the whole thing cohesively, but from the parts I have seen (most of the movie) it's very entertaining and tolerably accurate. Not as intense or fast-paced as many other war films, but it gets the message across and there are some good battle scenes. Of course the acting is great :) .

The whole making roadblocks out of human bodies .... thats the civvies doing that while the Honset Tommy is actually fighting ... did that really occur? I've never read it anywhere that i recall of.

I am sure it's a bit late, but it is a good movie. One of my favorites. I first saw it when I was a kid and I have seen it several times since then. I've searching for it in the video stores to add to my movie collection, but it's difficult to find.
Enjoy. It's one of those treasurable movies you can watch over and over without losing interest.
