Has anyone here seen the music video for this song? (not sure how many of you like heavy rock here) its quite interesting because it uses war themes yet doesn't overuse gore and gives a good effect. check it out and post what you think :)

I keep on hearing of My Chemical Romance... what genre of music do they do, exactly?

i beg to differ. the only modern music that i can handle is some of the very soft smooth techno beats.

Good ol' generalisations...

"If the music played on the radio is shit, ALL music must be shit..."

"If the programs on the TV played at 4.15am are shit, ALL TV programs must be shit"...

Here's a suggestion for a statement you could say that wont piss off people who work at community radio stations, who listen to demo tapes and CDs once a week and have the job of deciding whether or not something is worthy of being played (eg, ME.)- "All the music I've heard on radio stations and MTV I are not worth buying".

Here's why - PAYOLA! PAYOLA PAYOLA PAYOLA PAYOLA PAYOLA!
PAY-FREAKIN'-OLA!

"But Dave, I thought that was illegal? I thought Sony just got fined $13 million for "payola"ing... ?"

PAYOLA BY PROXY!

I hate mainstream record labels. Sony, BMG, Mushroom, EMI, Virgin... I've voiced my thoughts on Virgin/EMI before in the Ben Harper thread... They don't look for musically gifted artists or bands - they only sign artists or bands which will have commercial success, be it via good looks, a catchy tune... those things get you record labels. Not musical talent.

I kid you not, if Mozart was born today, he would get the SHATTEST record deal. Not because he has no musical talent - but because he 1) wouldn't have the looks, and 2) his film clips wouldn't go to the level of having booty shakin' skanks dancing on his piano.

MCR isn't exactly 'heavy'. They're more what the exact definition of emo is. They're a great band, but I think the lead singer overacts a bit in the videos :D

To the people who hate the music that they (naturally) don't like to listen to or thinks whatever they like is the best and everything else sucks:

- It's a matter of opinion.
- To each their own.
- Whatever floats your/their boat.
- Hate to break it to ya, but the world doesn't revolve around you.
- So?
- "Beauty" (or whatever is equivelant depending on the subject matter) is in the eye of the beholder.
