Does anybody know if you get a free 30 days or something for Fileplanet if you sign up, or does your card get charged when you sign up?

bf2 is just broken. it would have been fun had the engine worked, or even partialy worked.

I don't know what you people are doing to screw up BF2, but its fine. Only reason I don't still play it is that I had to reformat and can't find the damn CD key anywhere.

I own 1942/RTR/SW .. BFV .. BF2/SF ... BF2 sucks because of the community. Yes it could be a good game with the right people to play with but they are few and far between ... mostly its just a bunch of lil CS dropouts that only speak in 1337. 1942 was awesome with the right mods and BF2 could be also . I purchased 1942 BF2 and I pre downloaded SF and not a single one was worth it

That pretty much sums up my opinion too. I always loved bf1942 and the mods that were made (DC, FH, DCX, DCF) but I just though bf2 was rubbish (the game itself, and certain people in the community). I may go back to it though, when certain mods are released.

As for 2142, it looks like its going to be the same kind of game as bf2 but with LAZ3RS!!11. I'll stick to Red Orchestra for now :p

You mean... Company of Heroes?:confused: But the thing is, they didn't PROMISE to have it open, they announced it would be closed, and right now it's open and kicks total ass.:D Therefore, Relic owns EA in every way possible.

I hope you realise that Relic is the Developer while THQ is the publisher. DICE is the developer of the BF series while EA is their publisher.

People always mess that up. I laugh at all the posts on the Battlefield forums blaming EA for a bug that arose in the patch. However, it was DICE that did all that!

Needless to say though, the peeps who complain still play the game 24/7. I find that the most humourous part.

EA aren't really that bad to be honest. Im not entirely sure Westwood would have even went this far with the CnC Series if EA hadn't bought them out. Generals may not be a true CnC Game, but its still a great RTS. And CnC 3 looks very promising.

I guess there's several 'phases' to the beta, not sure how many though. Last phase is probably an open beta, before that is fileplanet. I have a press invite to the first phase, which I assume is before the fileplanet phase (only because of the number of times they mention NDA). Knowing my luck the first phase will start and end while I'm out of town :-(

Fileplanet subbies get to enjoy the beta first for a couple of days and then the public beta will be released... As EA somewhere stated...:confused:
Two or three weeks, a month at longest. Open beta will last probably half of that.

I don't like the mechs, but I love the VTOL. And I loved BF2 and still wish I could find the f***ing CD key.

I just wish that I could install Bf2! I've had the damned thing for months, but my DVD-ROM drive doesn't recognise that the disc is in the drive when I put it in.

I'm confused that it's console only; DICE released their latest financial report a couple of weeks ago and it said that the two new titles for 2007 would be for consoles AND PC.
