I've read this article, it's not a bad one but I thought it was very detailed.

Ambrose covers a portion in 'Band of brothers' and 'Citizen Soldiers' covers part of it as well, although am not sure how much as i have never read it.

Von Luck memoirs cover Normandy and the retreat to Germany ... i do remember him describing a 3 day battle with the Americans sometime after the retreat but do not know if it was part of the Ardennes Offensive.
May be worth renting it out if the local library has it.

Max Hastings Armageddon: The Battle for Germany 1944-45
also covers that period but i cant remember what he stated about the battle, i found the book to be boring and a dry read, although i do re-read it i will probably take it in alot better.

May also wanna have a looksie here on amazon:

Ardennes by Charles Whiting, an excellent book focusing more on the German side of the offensive.
Covers the clandestine operations undertook by the Germans. Very interesting stuff.

lol,

Yea i do remember reading its full of all sorts of inaccuraries. I saw it when i was a kid and i recall one of the final scenes is something like a bunch of what are supose to be tigers coming over a ridge and shermies blast the underside.
As the yanks had clicked on that the underside was weak ...

lol :S

The 'Tigers' are Patton's and the Sherman's are Chaffee's :D .

LOL That movie was hilarious. Especially that 'aerial recon photo' of Robert Shaw that was a perfectly clear close up of the actor.

:D

Yeah, the movie is an incorrect POS. I'm reading Band of Brothers by Stephen E. Ambrose right now but haven't gotten to the Battle of the Bulge part yet.
Thanks for the info guys!

Oh I wouldnt say its a POS but by god its unaccurate. Those tanks look nothing like tigers or shermans. I think even an average jo could see those werent tigers! The tigers armour is aamously straight

well do you have to give them credit, wasnt like there was a hell load of Tigers, MKivs and panthers in top nick after the war.

Those which were iirc where tested upon.

Even the tiger in SPR iirc is a T34 with frame built around it.

Yea, in SPR its a T-34. As are many 'Tigers' nowadays. Only real working Tiger I have ever seen, was the one in Bovington Tank Museum in Dorset.

I think I went a little over with the inaccurate POS comment. They did the best they could at the time.

Even the tiger in SPR iirc is a T34 with frame built around it. I thought it was a Czech T-55. I'll have to check.:)

[edit] T-34 was correct, I was thinking of the Jagdpanther in Band of Brothers (http://www.armchairgeneral.com/wordpress/wp-content/features/bob/BOB_052.jpg)—the Tiger I from Band of Brothers (http://www.armchairgeneral.com/wordpress/wp-content/features/bob/BOB_064.jpg).

I never realised the Jagdpanther in BoB was a T-55! But then again, I never really looked at the wheels, consdering you don't see it for long. Haha, I've seen a real working one of them aswell :D

Just wondering where to get info on the Last German offensive of the war. Pictures, maps and other relavant stuff would be nice.

Actually the last German Offensive was the "Operation Frühlingserwachen" (Operation Spring Awakening) near Lake Balaton, Hungary in 1945.

Another link for Ardennes Offensive:

Also, I have some documents about Ardennes Offensive in .pdf format (maps, OoBs, photos etc...) . If anyone interests PM me :)
