Found this doing a google serch lol this is the original draft of the speech given to the troops of the Allied Expeditionary Forces on June 6, 1944, the morning of the invasion.

very cool find. definatly wortywhile read. i could only imagine what must have been going through his mind when writing that.

Interesting. I think they should include a copy of the speech in the 1944 game box or user manual or something. That'd be cool.

Possibly that it was all going to go to pot as he wrote another stating he was sorry about the failure or soemthing to that effect :(


Great link, ive never seen the orginal draft, only the final version ... it always makes me shiver.

yeah i knew he was freakin out real bad just before the invasion, but who wouldn't in his position? i think he was smoking something like four packs a day. when you think about it though i think something like 10,000 allies died during the invasion, which was half of what was thought would be lost if the invasion was sucessful. if it failed however, that would mean there would be 120,000 dead or captured allies, and thus basically the end of the war.
