I'm working with Sandstorm Productions on Mare Nostrum. We'll be adding the North African and Italian Campaigns, but we're considering expanding to other areas in the Med. Theater in the future.

Check out our website at www.marenostrumgame.com or our IRC channel, #marenostrum on gamesurge.net

I'm really anticipating this mod, I heard about it a while ago on the RO:O forums, and it sounds like its going to be great!

Also Lazlazlaz1 is on that. Yea it looks good, was thinking of applying for researcher but I can't remember why I didn't. Anyway looks great and I will probably get it!

Looking hot. Just the idea of the Campagna Italiana team mixed up with the Burning Sands team totally thrilled me.

Finally the full potential of Red Orchestra is in sight! ;)

Btw, my own Holland mod is crippled for the moment, but we are about to strike back. ;)

Not sure if the fanbase would catch the "Our Sea" bit very quickly, but nice work with the title.

Nice! I have been waiting a mod for RO. It seem pretty good, anyone know how long they have been working on this project?

Manstein

I was hoping someone would get the Latin, that was my idea ;)

2ltben

The title suggests an Italian-centric base, though.

Manstein
08-16-2006, 08:20 AM
yeah it does, but no one else could come up with a good name that brought up the Med. without limiting us to just NA and Italy

Rapishorrid
08-16-2006, 02:00 PM
Very good mod indeed. I am quite a big fan of the merge between the two teams!:D

Btw, what do you all think of the website? However long it took, I finally finished it! :p The background is best viewed at 1280xSomething, lower than that and there isn't enough background to even worry and higher than that is a bit insane for a resolution! It would take the image years to load. :D

But anyway, Good luck to the team and I look forward to the next Tunis Telegraph!

I herd of this mod,but need to get red orchestra first, those places sound good as the fallschirmjäger fought there, any chance of getting them in the game?,thanks.

Psycho Sam

Yeah they will definatley be featuring. Hopefully we should be able to cover crete at a later date :)

Were it not for time constraints I would be mapping for these guys...

Fallschirmjäger
08-18-2006, 06:23 AM
Thanks Psycho Sam i would like actualy tunisia and italy more than crete realy, ground fighting without the jumps is what i like better than them parachutes, though they did use them in sicily in 1943.

Psycho Sam
08-18-2006, 06:33 AM
I doubt due to the constraints of the engine we have to work with we can get parachute drops in. So if we did cover the battle of crete it would start several hours after the landings. It would be fun to have only light equipment fighting against the waiting British!

However as I said we hope to cover crete but you will see the FRJ in Mare Nostrum ;) One of our skinners is part of a re enactment group so he will make sure we get them dead on! lol :D

Thanks again Psycho Sam for this info,i dont know why red orchestra did nto have FJ from the start realy, but they might i think at some stage later maybe. And this game is like red orchestra as its only online and not single player right and would it be able to be played at all on dial up speed or not?,thanks.
(Oh there is the bots i think on red orchestra i forgot for training or something).

Psycho Sam
08-18-2006, 10:15 AM
There is an offline mode called practice mode where you can play with bots. As for if you can play with Dial up I am not sure about that. As long as the server in close and you have a ping of under about 130 you should be able to play as RO is quite forgiving on high pings :)

Pish and Tish, do they think that 16 year olds cannot help BETA test correctly, without beign leetist... Oh well, I'm not bothered, I just can't wait for this amazing mod to come out!

2ltben
09-07-2006, 04:11 AM
No, its that those under 18 cannot legally agree to a non-disclosure agreement and they are obligated to school primarily. And those still in high school would not normally have the access to the resources a college student or history grad would.

No the mod is not currently finished. And as far as I know we are the only active mod for Red Orchestra.

-R!G4M0RT!Z;42361']Pish and Tish, do they think that 16 year olds cannot help BETA test correctly, without beign leetist... Oh well, I'm not bothered, I just can't wait for this amazing mod to come out!

Unfortuneatley like 2ltben said under 18's cannot sign legal documents. So unfortuneatley we cannot except anybody under that age. Further on in development we may drop the age limit as there is less for us to loose should somebody go astray :)

I checked the german media on the site, but see nothing is this right?,thanks and i have joined the forums there too now.

The media pages on the front page only showed textured models ;) Look in the media gallery within the forum to see all our WIP's.

Yes folks it is finally time for the Mare Nostrum June Media release!

We apologise for the delay to the release but hopefully it has been worth waiting for. With our latest internal release only coming out in the early hours of this morning we quickly took screenshots of 3 of our headline maps for you all.

Our 3 maps are Tobruk Central, Akaba and Fallen Empire. As well as map updates we have renders of the British and Australian Infantry soldiers. However thats not all as we have renders of the reskinned Darkest Hour Sherman into desert colours.

Along with this release we also bring you the June Tunis Telegraph (http://www.marenostrumgame.com/June%20Telegraph.pdf) which has all the news and in depth looks at the models and the maps. Including an interview with Andrei313.

Hope you all enjoy, and thanks for all the patience our fans have shown over the recent weeks!

You betcha, we are looking for some Aussie voice actors though so if you know of anyone or even yourself who could do them let me know. ;)

Oh and another bit of info:

We are happy to announce, in celebration of our next press release that Mare Nostrum now has its very own Steam Community group!

Steam has undergone a large update and now you can create your own personal profiles (via the community tab), create and join steam community groups, create a friends list, partake in group and voice chat and it even supports 3rd party game launching" (just click games and "Add a non-Steam game to My Games list")

I have already invited some people who were easy to find, however if you didn't get an invite just sign up at:

http://steamcommunity.com/groups/marenostrum

We hope to make the Mare Nostrum group one of the hottest in the Red Orchestra scene and so to reward all members who join we will be releasing the next media update on it 24 hours earlier than anywhere else! Considering this update includes in-game video footage of some of our weapons it will be our best yet. So what are you waiting for? Join Now! http://moddb.com/images/smilie/eek.gif

I would love to try out for it, but my voice is not the steryotypical aussie voice (probally cause im half german ;) ) But i think it is the perfect voice for the game though.

Like....it is a australian voice...but like not steve irwin....lol...a real australian voice i guess is what im trying to say....

That was weird....anyway..yeah i would love to do voices for you :D

We thought it about time for another update, so here goes.

During our long period without any updates we have been working on several things. We are now at the stage of polishing off our first batch of weapons which we have in game and getting the remainder animated and ready to go in. With the new RO update we have also been twiddling knobs and pushing buttons in the level editor to make the most of the new bloom settings and get our maps looking the best we can. Steam has also undergone large changes with the Steam Communities addition and so we opened the Mare Nostrum Steam Community this week. We have over 80 members already so if you haven’t joined yet go and have a look:

http://steamcommunity.com/groups/marenostrum

We also released a load of new information sheets, which give some background information about the weapons, vehicles and units featured in Mare Nostrum. I have included four below but check out our gallery for the others.

Bren MkII (http://www.marenostrumgame.com/images/media/breninfosheet.jpg)
Enfield No1. MkIII* (http://www.marenostrumgame.com/images/media/enfieldinfosheet.jpg)
Thompson M1928-A1 (http://www.marenostrumgame.com/images/media/thompsoninfosheet.jpg)
Panzer II (http://www.marenostrumgame.com/images/media/panzer2infosheet.jpg)
M4 Sherman (http://www.marenostrumgame.com/images/media/june/shermaninfosheet.jpg)
Commonwealth Officer (http://www.marenostrumgame.com/images/media/officerinfosheet.jpg)
Australian Infantry (http://www.marenostrumgame.com/images/media/june/ausinfosheet.jpg)
British Infantry (http://www.marenostrumgame.com/images/media/june/britinfosheet.jpg)

Our regular newspaper the Tunis Telegraph also sees a welcome return this month after an extended absence. Inside along with the usual exclusive images and developer interviews are articles on the Panzer II, Junker Ju 52, Thompson M1928-A1 and Commonwealth squad composition among others.

October Telegraph (http://files.moddb.com/8749/download-october-tunis-telegraph-2007)

However no doubt for most the really important update is our teaser trailer. The trailer features footage of early in game tests of both the Bren MkII and Thompson M1928-A1 in our featured map, Tobruk. Whilst this trailer just gives a taste of what’s to come we hope it gives you a good idea of what to expect in the future form Sandstorm Productions.
