I found this index awhile back, and I use it frequently when doing graphic design from this era. Be warned: These images are on an indexed page, and are about 2mb each. I've downloaded all of these to my hard drive and its landed over 4 gigs of space.

If you wanted to download all of these images, I would suggest using a program that has a recursive downloading function.

Wow. Thanks a ton for the link. I've been looking for nice hi res pictures from WW2, and this fits the bill perfectly. Thanks for sharing!

Seriously dont take the time to go through all 2348 of the pics. Download ReGet Deluxe, and utilize the recursive download function and download the entire index.

There are some very nice HiRes color photographs in there too.

You will be seeing quite of few of these be turned into 1944 wallpapers from me in the near future. :p

If you see any you particularly like, drop me a line and I'll see what I can do.

If you don't want to download all the images or are on a slow connection use the search (recherche) function on the above site by inserting the photo's number (eg p000001). You'll get a description (in french) and small image of the photo. Then simply replace the url with any number from the original archive posted. This function doesn't work on http://www.ceris-normandie.com/archivesnormandie/.
