Okay well, I have decided to try and write a book. I have always been jotting constant notes down for the past 2 years or so, and I thought its about time to get to work...

Anyways, if anyone can find any info they can about the 327th Glider Infantry Regiment (WW2), that would be great! The book is based on a squad from this regiment, and I want it very historically accurate. All help is greatly appreciated!!!

I dont mean to be rude, but if you want to write your own book, dont base it off other peoples research. You need to have alot of knowledge of what your writing about. What other people give you, especially the ones on this forum arent sources that I would find to be accurate. I dont think a gaming forum is the right place to be asking for accurate sources, as a matter of fact I wouldnt even be finding sources off the internet. Id buy as many books on what your researching as you can. Most books have good, accurate info. Just my 2 cents. Good luck with the book.

For Your Information:

I have 4 currently read books sitting on my shelf here (may not be a whole lot, but its a start) about the gliders and the 327th. Like I said i have been planning this for almost 2 years and i have done a hell of alot of research. I was just asking if anyone here knew some good resourceful websites that I have not found already.

I have seen many links for different WW2 subjects, etc. on these forums that i was amazed by. Reason being because they are many unpopular websites that can be difficult to find. I am not asking people to give me the history of the 327th. I am just asking around if anyone knows of any interesting links, etc.

although i cant help the OP, i would like to point out several points to the above.

1 - have you ever looked in the back of a book? There you will find the Authors sources, quite a lot are based on other peoples research! Books, articles, memiors, offical histories, reports, AARs etc
2 - Why would you not find some of the stuff posted here to be an accurate soruce? Ive opened several topics and ive seen other do so which contain information gained from books - for example i recently posted a topic on alamien which was full of stuff directly from a source i was reading.
Photos etc which are posted are sources and there accuracy on the whole can not be doubted.
For another example - a gaming forum the Battlefront forums are full of people with indeapth knowledge on history. For example last night i was chatting to a chap on the typical Soviet defence at kursk.
3 - The internet is an excellent source as you can use it to find the information you need and then buy the revlent books etc
for example peoples reviews on books
Although websites such as Actung Panzer are a great resource.

Thanks a bunch Enigma!

I plan on it being a novel. Fictional made-up characters in the 327th. It describes their relationships between eachother, training, battles and such. I dont plan on having it based on real people (Some may be mentioned here and there but not the main characters). The characters are fake, but i want their surroundings real.
But i will be sure to check out the links, thanks again!
