Ok axis first then,it was any,but i will go with small arms for this.
Axis: My weapon would be the german kar 43 or G 43 rifle.
Axis:The tank would be the panther tank it all its forms.
Allied: The weapon i would pick the u.s M1 carbine, small arms again.
Allied : The tank if i had to i suppose it should be the T 34,but i dont realy like russian stuff so would go with the Pershing tank i think it is the last tank to come into the war and see action in the later stages in WW2.

Allies: Churchill, and M1 Grand
Axis: Tiger, and MG42.
To be honest, I'm more into airplanes, like the Supermarine Spitfire or B-17 Flying Fortress (now THIS is a beauty, I've been in one)

British
Weapon: Brrrrrren!
Tank: Comet I, because of the incredible awesomeness of the thing.
American
Weapon: M1919 .30 Cal OR the "Stinger" from Iwo:D
Tank: None. I had a Great Uncle in the infantry (he fought at the Bulge) whose cousin served in three different tanks, all different. He said they were all metal deathtraps, and I agree with him.
Canada
Weapon: The Johnson. The Canucks had the balls to take this kickass automatic rifle, while the US rejected it.
Tank: See "American: Tank"
Japan
Weapon: That carbon-copy of the bren they had... it had a bayonet!:D
Tank: A good WW2 Japanese tank?! *Laughs*
Germany
Weapon: Scoped G43. Probably one of the better weapons that German snipers used on the Eastern Front.
Tank: The Tiger. No matter what you say, it was one of the bigger, and therefore was one of the better.
Soviet Union
Weapon: PPSH-43. The fact that this was designed, created, tested, and manufactured on a battlefield makes it all the better.
Tank: Su-85, just because it was made for the sole purpose of combating El Tigre.

From the Allied side:
Tank: Sherman Firefly
The M4-series were easy and cheap to produce but especially the earlier versions lacked the punch to take out heavier panzers. The Firefly was an M4 improved with a British 17pdr anti-tank gun, and it was able to knock out even the heaviest of German panzers even through the front armor (maybe some problems vs. King Tiger, Ferdinand etc).
Weapon: M1 Carbine
Light weight, still quite accurate even over long distances, large magazine. Did lack in power, but in my point of view the aim of any weapon is not necessarily to kill your enemy easily, but to disable him. Practically no back-kick, multiple aimed shots in a short period of time possible. Non-corrosive main parts.
or...
PPSh-41
Cheap and easy with large drum magazine, reliable and easy maintenance due to simple mechanics. One detail though: the drum magazine was rarely fully loaded due to 71 bullets in the drum often causing the weapon to jam.
And as an edit, the Axis gear:
Tank:
Panzer Kampfwagen IV Ausf G & H
The Panzer IV was the backbone of Axis armored forces, and as such it is my Axis 'tank of choice', and especially so the Ausf. G and H. They were effective against most of the Allied tanks, excluding perhaps the Russian IS-2 and IS-3 and the M4A3E2 (Sherman Jumbo). PzKpfW IV late war versions were very cheap to produce compared to the PzKfpW V and VI series, and had the Germans kept mass producing these cost effective tanks instead of the more expensive models, the outcome of the war could've been different.
Weapon:
MG42
Reliable, easy to use, durable. Light weight compared to other machine guns of the time. Updated model MG3 used even this day by NATO forces. Enough said.

The M1 Carbine was made for close up urban combat was like the anti SMG, very accurate in bursts and still packed the punch of the .30 cal round. A good choice ;)

Sadly it was the first plane shot down in WWII (i think) and it was bascially target practice for fighters.... :( :( :(
EDIT: The P.11c was the first plane to be shot down, the Stuka got the first victory. :p
