Poland is blaming Germany for losing millions of people as a direct result of WW2.

This comes up as the EU discusses a population-based representative system.

nah, they may have a smaller population than they would have, but Poland and Eastern Europe has always been sparsley populated.

I would think the fact that Poland didn't exist for the entire 19th century would be the cause of its population problems.

The fact that he implies that Germany is responiable for up to 20 million Polish deaths is laughable.

You also have to take in to consideration the whole reproductive aspect of it, if you kill a whole bunch of people, you don't have them there to reproduce and thusly the population will suffer a huge dent as attributed to that.

Germany is responsible, but not through WW2. And Russian shares 1/3 of the blame. Hell, Russia's to blame for my noble bloodline not being worth a damn since my family wasn't of magnate status. My family was located in one of their partitioned lands and Russia revoked the noble privledges of all the szlachtas, but kept limited privledges for those of magnate status. Unfortunately my family belonged to the lower gentry.

Russia indeed has messed up with Poland through 18th and 19th century.


Eurounion's rich countries uses cheap labor and Eastern European resources...When I was working in Sweden(cleaning machinery) I was appalled at the amount of Poles invlolved in "dirty" work there.

Really though, if Poland has such a problem, maybe they should have bought some tanks before 1930 so they had more than horses and spears when the Germans came rolling in. They got pwned. Their pop cap was lowered. Besides, Germany ultimately lost the war, so what are the Pollocks complaining about?

Also I think about 19 million of the missing 20 million just came to America. There are so many Poles here...
