Spawning & Logistics?

In 1944 there is no such thing as spawning, as nothing magically appears in the world. We have done our research and taken the time to determine the location of each and every unit in and around Normandy leading upto June 6th 1944. We know the volume of resources (Weapons, Tanks, Vehicles, Planes, Ammo, Fuel) that each side had, where it was coming from and what the infrastructure was to move them about.

So when you commence the game, the Allies and the Germans have these resources at their disposal and they must ensure that are not wasted, or resources may be pulled back and re-assigned. We commonly refer to these resources as logistics, and it is these logistics that are the key to the Battles. While it may appear that the soldiers fighting the battles determine whether it is won or lost, it holds true that the logistics behind these battles also play a significant role.

1944's management of logistics means that the AI only has a certain amount at it's disposal, be it 10 tanks or 100 tanks, 1000 Kar98's or 10,000 Kar98's. The game is limited only by these logistics, for this reason the game is not balanced and never will be, there are certain battles that are in favour of one side or the other, and it is the control of these logistics that position one side above the other.

Control your logistics, keep your lines open, keep your communication flowing and you will find a steady flow of units, vehicles, tanks, fuel, ammo, medical supplies and food coming to your lines. Fail to control your logistics and you run the risk of being cut off, isolated and in a position you cannot get out of.
