I'll play both.. Add another option ?
Kar98 scoped ftw;
M1 Grand ftw;
Spitfire ftw;
I could go on.. many reasons to play both :!

Probably allies first so I can understand what they are saying though!

I accidently hit Axis, but I meant Allied. But I will probably only end up playing German if I actually learn German, which I hope to do so in highschool.

But yeah, Allieds are awesome because of paratroopers, and church-hills, oh, and whats more awesome than being in an LCVP and landing on a beach, under fire? Well, everything actually. Because no one would WANT to be shot at unless you have a death wish. But this is going to be a game, so, that makes it awesome. :chinese:

Axis so I can see how good my German pronounciation is, and get me one of those MG42's. Also to try to change history. By myself!

I wish we (the forum people) all played together one campaign, chose one company and fought all the battles together. I honestly don't know what side I'd choose, by 2012 I'll know.

Axis all the time for me,as so much to do with the axis there would be no time for the allies.And i just like the FJ and would want to go them all the time,maybe other luftwaffe or german troops too now and then.

As tempted as I am to say Axis, I'm going to go with the Allies; simply because us Brits kick-arse.

I would play Axis to try to retain some of my German, and I find it fun to speak it. I dont want to lose it. But I will play everyone, mainly the Americans, Polish, and Germans.

I'm going to say Allied, because I would enjoy playing them more.

Polish =/= in Normandy. I'm fairly sure of this. I believe the only allied armies that took part in Normandy were Canada, Britain, and the U.S

You would be mistaken, then, my friend. 15,000 were regulars in their own division, while it's estimated a good 50,000 helped out the French Resistance.

DON'T FORGET POLAND!

EDIT: Or all these other guys: "On D-Day, 6 June 1944, the Allies landed around 156,000 troops in Normandy. Apart from British and American troops, personnel from Australia, Belgium, Canada, Czechoslovakia, France, Greece, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway and Poland took part in the landings."

Thanks Sgt So and So, and youre absolutely right. The Polish seem pretty forgotten, but were extremely helpful to the allied cause. If you would like a good reference, check out "A Question of Honor: The Forgotten Polish Heroes of World War II". Countless thousands were active in the Polish underground and the Home Army, and were responsible for two of the three major uprisings of the war.

Yono

Yes there were Polish. And many people dont know that the French took place in the landing too. And for a simple reason.

They didnt have there own beach to assault. That goes to the Polish and French. So everyone knows America was in D-Day, why? Because of Utah, Omaha and Pointe Du Hoc. Everyone knew that the British were in D-day, why? Because of Sword and Gold. For the Canadians it was Juno.

If the Polish had their own beach they would have been known much more. But many people forget that it was the Gold was an Anglo-British beach, which ment not only Brit's but also Poles, french, Assuies, Greek....anyone else who was participating the invasion and was in the Anglo-British side. (Plus, there were usually in smaller number in comparison to others so they were much less known.)

Really most beaches were mixed, but each beach was mixed. In each beach head excpet for the American ones, there was a group of French royal marine commandos. The canadians had a Scottish reg in their beach. Aswell as french.

So really, the Pole's were there and the French were there, but they just arent noticed because each beach was assigned to a major country.

Sorry for the big post but I had to say somthing about the matter,
Yono

Well it did end up nazi-germany being wiped off the map, BUT, the point why he said that, is that withouth nazi-germanys help, the Finland would have been totally conquered.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought that there were only 100 french commandos that landed during the first wave of the invasion, and they landed at sword with the rest of the british commando brigades?

I like Allied as well for the weapons, and just because we won haha.

thats a good point TheSavior111, what if you're playing as Germans and don't know German? Then how will you understand your orders? I didnt think of that problem. Of course I am assuming that all sides will speak there languages realistically. Perhaps there will be subtitles along with the foreigner language dialoge?

sekon
09-26-2010, 07:03 AM
@Baracca/@Chewie
No subtitles

Lucan
09-26-2010, 03:50 PM
I'd imagine there will be some form of indication for all of the languages for people who don't speak them, even if they aren't exactly subtitles. Something ArmA II-esque, perhaps.

Guardian
09-26-2010, 05:21 PM
Im not sure on that, from what I understand there isn't. But that's great for me.

I would end up playing both, but the US first defiantly.

Baracca Chewbama

this is so realistic it is scary... german side talks only german, etc. gives me shivers to think of playing a game with that level of historic accurateness. of course in that case i have to play as USA.

now i am wondering how many voice actors per nationality will there be? i think it would be weird if all the soldiers had the same voice. Ronan might need to hire a large number of people for realism but realism is a huge concern so i think it is worth it in the end.
